This page will help you determine which modules your staff need to complete. Begin with the Job Hazard Assessment. All staff must complete Fire Safety, Hazard Communications, Emergency Preparedness, Ergonomics, General Work Surfaces and Electrical Safety.
The training modules are based on typical job areas such as clerical staff or medical providers. You should review these modules and instruct staff which additional presentations they need to complete.
Performing a Job Hazard Assessment/PPE Guidelines
The following training is required for all off-site employees:
Fire SafetyHazard CommunicationElectrical SafetyEmergency PreparednessErgonomicsGeneral Work SurfacesAdditional training may be required for each specific group:
- Medical Providers - training presentations for staff who have direct patient contact
- Dental Medical Providers - training presentations for staff who have direct patient contact in dentistry
- Clerical Staff - training presentations for staff who have no direct patient contact
- Phlebotomy Staff - training presentations for staff who draw blood
- Research Laboratory Personnel - training presentations for research or other laboratory personnel who do not deal with human specimens
- Facilities/Maintenance Personnel - training presentations for staff who perform building maintenance functions
Quizzes to be printed out, completed and retained as proof of training:
The following documents must be maintained at each site as part of the Safety Desk Book:
- Chemical Inventory and corresponding Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
- Job Hazard Assessment for each position at your location
- Training Records

- - Attendance records for all training should be maintained for a minimum of 3 years
