Supervisor Information for Clerical Staff
This page will help you determine which modules your staff need to complete. The required training topics
are listed as well as questions to assist you in identifying whether the optional presentations are also
necessary.
The following training is required for all off-site staff who have no direct patient contact:
Additional training may be required as determined by answering the
following questions:
- Is staff involve contact with blood or body fluids in a non-laboratory setting? If yes, the following training
must be completed:
- Do staff work with disinfectants and/or sterilants? If yes, the following training must be completed:
- Do staff work in a noisy environment such as a mechanical room or around power equipment? Do staff need to shout in order to
be heard just 2-3 feet away? If yes, please contact EH&S to determine if the noise levels are above the
OSHA Action Levevl of 85 decibels for an 8 hour day. If so, enrollment in the University Hearing Conservation
Program is necessary and the following training must be completed:
- Do staff assist in medical procedures that utilize a laser? If yes, the following training must be completed:
- Do staff work in an Operating Room? If yes, the following training must be completed:
- Do staff use radioactive materials? If yes, the following training must be completed:
- Is staff exposured to chemicals and/or particulates that require respiratory protection? If yes, please
contact EH&S to determine if levels of contaminates require wearing a respirator and enrollment in the Respiratory
Protection Program. If yes, the following training must be completed:
